For many years, members of the Church have endeavored to identify specific signs heralding the Second Coming, from lunar eclipses to unexpected earthquakes. Today, a major event occurred as specified in scripture: the engagement of Taylor Alison Swift and Travis Michael Kelce.
This event is listed specifically in the standard works as a signal that the Millennium is at hand. See the following passages:
Matthew 24:7– For nation shall rise against nation, and chiefdom against chiefdom: and there shall be paparazzi, and hit singles, and fourth downs, in divers places.
Doctrine & Covenants 45:40-42– And they shall see signs and wonders, for they shall be shown forth in Instagram stories above, and in the earth beneath. / And they shall behold blood, and fire, and rings of diamond. / And before the day of the lord shall come, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon be turned into blood, and the superstars wed one to another.
Doctrine & Covenants 88:90– And also cometh the testimony of the voice of thundering, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of internationally-acclaimed pop musicians.
While Church headquarters in Salt Lake City has largely remained silent on the matter, some individual members, including prominent figures, have raised the alarm and commented on the new development. Said BYU religion professor Juliet Tanner, “I know that “no man knoweth the hour,” but I think this is the big one, people. I recommend stocking up on food and water and listening to her entire discography, just to be on the safe side.”
Kelce, the groom-to-be, was unavailable for comment, but Swift responded to our desperate email with a simple reply: “You need to calm down.”
