Local Couple Spends Six Hours on Doorstep Saying Goodnight

Unable to part ways after curfew went into effect at 1:30 AM, BYU student Blake Emerson ended up standing with his girlfriend at her apartment door until the sun rose early Saturday morning. Emerson and his girlfriend Makeighla Simmons consider themselves “inseparable” and have pledged to not let BYU-approved housing rules get in the way of their undying love.

“I remember finally checking my Apple Watch and saying to her, ’oh shoot, it’s already 7:50 AM…I should probably go home and get some sleep, I have work at 9 today.’ I gotta stay on that money-making grind if I want to take my girl on a fancy honeymoon to Park City, ya know? Time just goes by so quickly when I’m with Keighla,” Emerson said.

According to reports, Emerson and Simmons kept kissing and saying how much they loved each other. She kept telling him that she was tired and that he would see her again the next night, but he convinced her otherwise, and they continued to make out; this cycle repeated every 20 minutes. Occasionally, they would scan the area to see if anyone was looking at them, and several people were spotted, watching in terror. Three other boyfriends were also found making out with their girlfriends outside their apartment doors, but they all chose to leave around the more reasonable hour of 5 AM.

“Ugh, I really love kissing Blake,” Simmons said. “I know it’s only been four weeks, but I really feel like he’s the one. He even let it slip on Wednesday night that he’s already hired a secret photographer for when he proposes.”

Allred Apartments told The Alternate Universe that if the incident happens again, they will have to call the city of Provo to boot and tow Emerson’s car, even though there is absolutely no correlation between the two. At press time, Emerson had called in sick to work, unable to get up from his bed as his legs were too sore after hours of standing.
