LDS Church Announces Casting for Super Smith Bros. Movie

As production on the Book of Mormon Videos continues, church media directors have been on a search to figure out what the next big project would be once their current focus wraps up. In an interview with Eric Hawkins of the church Newsroom and Mark Grayson of Alternate Universe BYU, Bill Elliott, Media Director of LDS Media, shared details about their next upcoming project.

“After much prayer and fasting, we reached the decision that the best use of tithepayer funds would be to launch the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Cinematic Universe, or LDSCU for short. We are beyond excited to share a preview of Super Smith Bros. in the form of our casting choices. We hope you think they are as cool as we do.” said Bill. 

They anticipate the official opening date to be during the holiday break of December 2022 and will look to make a major nationwide release, pending health guidelines at that time. 

There is many more characters to be announced, but here is the cast that we know for a certainty will be representing their characters:

Anya Taylor-Joy – Emma Smith

Charlie Day – Hyrum Smith

Jack Black – Governor Lilburn Boggs

Keegan-Michael Key – Oliver Cowdery

Seth Rogen – Martin Harris

Kevin Michael Richardson – Liberty Jail Ruffian 1

Fred Armisen – Liberty Jail Ruffian 2

Sebastian Maniscalco – Liberty Jail Ruffian 4

Kirby Heyborne – Meta Knight

Rick Macy – Joseph Smith Sr.

The LDS Media staff declined to comment on the expected budget of the picture and of any ties to Nintendo.
