Bishop Johnson has decided to start off the New Year with a bang by setting a New Year’s resolution to marry off 50 singles from the YSA ward he leads. He announced his goal this Sunday during Sacrament meeting.
“As we begin this year, let us make time for the most important thing in our lives: dating and getting married so that I can become the most successful YSA Bishop Provo has ever seen.”
Bishop Johnson has led the Provo 504th Ward for the past two and a half years and said he figures that “I have enough experience by now to make this happen.”
In an exclusive interview with The Alternate Universe he stressed the importance of making a plan and sticking to your goals.
“I figure there are 52 weeks in the year which means a wedding about every week. Hopefully some of my YSA singles will marry each other decreasing the total number of weddings, but just in case I am leaving all of my Saturdays open.”
When interviewed, ward member Julieytte Howard expressed excited anticipation.
“I think this is going to be a really great thing! I’m already almost 20 years old and I haven’t even been engaged yet. Bishop Johnson’s new initiative really gives me hope that I won’t die alone.”
Will Bishop Johnson be able to make his dreams a reality? Only time will tell.
