In a recent meeting with the BYU Athletics Department, Director Brian Santiago and his team led an important discussion with leading medical experts on the issue of Utah Ute enthusiasm. With the famous rivalry at the forefront of everyone’s minds, the department landed on prenatal tylenol use as a potential cause for Ute fan births.
Santiago questioned, “Why would anyone not cheer for the Lord’s football team? It’s gotta be the acetaminophen.”
One self-identified Ute fan, Madison Yewtah spoke on the subject, “My mom must have popped 12 capsules a day when she was pregnant with me, because you wouldn’t catch me dead wearing blue.”
On the other end of the spectrum, we have BYU students like Grace Young, who is currently pregnant with her first child, who says “I’m determined to tough out any and every headache I get. I eat a Cougartail every day just to make sure the baby doesn’t get any ideas.”
This is a time of immense pressure for many a mother-to-be as it will 100% be their fault if their baby is born on the wrong side of the rivalry. BYU Athletics has expressed their sincere hope that these mothers will make the right decisions.
