Shocking! Boy Who’s Actively Pursuing You Says He’s “Not Ready for a Relationship.”

Rumors say that he’s already on Mutual again, looking for his next victim.

As the days get shorter and colder, cuffing season seems to be in full swing. But not everyone is succeeding in getting into a relationship. Take, Lacey Lowder, a BYU Junior, who recently fell victim to the hope that a boy would actually commit to her.

After several weeks of actively asking her out and consistently spending time together, Evan James seems to have gotten cold feet. After having a non-official break-up conversation with James, Lowder was left reflecting on wasted time. “He told me we were moving too fast, but he was literally the one who initiated everything. I’m so confused,” she commented.

In order to get to the core of men’s phobia of commitment, our reporters went straight to the source by interviewing Evan James. His issues seem to stem from deep past trauma. “I’m just really scarred from my last relationship when I was six. She called me a ‘stupid-head’. I haven’t trusted a woman since,” he said through tears.

When we asked what would help him know how he was ready for a relationship, he responded, “I’ll know she’s the one when I finally don’t have to put in any effort at all. The ideal situation will be that I’ll meet her and have an immediate vision about us getting married. That’s the only way I can put my heart on the line.”

When we interviewed Evan’s therapist, he seemed unaware that any of these issues were occurring. In fact, though Evan’s emotional issues were getting worse, he stopped going to therapy altogether. Dr. Jason Call simply shook his head and said, “I haven’t seen Evan in a few months. I hope he’s doing okay.”

Evan James is not the only commitment-averse man around, so ladies, make sure to protect yourself by looking for the following signs:

  • He tells you he’s never felt this way before
  • You tell your friends about him
  • He tells you that he trusts you
  • You have a good feeling about where the relationship is going
