As the world spectates the winter olympics together, BYU has the honor and privilege of providing delicious nutrition to this year’s athletes. To honor the beautiful country of Italy where the competition is taking place, leaders chose the Cannon Center’s Euro Kitchen to serve the world’s greatest competitors.
Cannon Center chef Shawn Smith said:
“The world is our campus, but it is also our kitchen. We are extremely confident that we can bring the most authentic Italian culinary experience to this event.”
Legendary snowboarder Chloe Kim also shared her thoughts on the menu:
“I love the way the little penne noodles stick together and sound like rubber in your mouth. I feel so lucky that I got to travel all the way to Italy to experience pasta as it was made to be–shipped from Provo, Utah.”
The Cannon Center even had the honor of serving swimmer Henrik Christiansen, the unofficial Olympic dessert reviewer. He shared:
“I think the creamery chocolate milk surpasses the Olympic village chocolate muffin by a landslide. I don’t know how I ever lived without it.”
As always, the Cannon Center staff will pray that this food will nourish and strengthen the Olympians, and that the hands which prepared it will be blessed.
