BYU Hires Florida Man Expert to Prep for USF Game

In preparation for Saturday’s game against the University of South Florida, BYU has enlisted the help of noted Florida Man researcher Dr. Phoebe Watts. With only one player on the roster from the state of Florida, the Cougars looked to Dr. Watts to help them be mentally ready for the challenges they could face.

“It’s natural for people with little experience living around Florida Men to feel afraid and uneasy around them,” says Watts. “I consider it a privilege to raise awareness about these rare and beautiful creatures.”

This new approach to game preparation is a bold new step for the Cougars. “Getting advice from an expert could be a game changer for us,” says BYU coach Kalani Sitake. “We’ve never won a game in the state of Florida and we don’t want to lose anyone to another bath-salts-related zombie attack.”

Dr. Watts gave several pointers to the Cougars, including a method to stand their ground and make themselves look large if ever confronted by a hungry looking Florida Man. The team was also advised to always assume that if they see a Florida Man, there are also at least two alligators and a half-empty bottle of Captain Morgan not too far away.
