Wearing Your Costume on Campus? BYU Announces New Halloween Parade and Other Festive Traditions Usually Reserved for 5-Year-Olds

It’s Halloween on campus, and that means that everyone will be wearing a costume while completing their regular activities, like learning about finance and preparing for the adult world.

To help support this beloved tradition, BYU administration announced that students will have the opportunity to participate in a Halloween parade. Participants will line up by class and visit the other classes to show off their costumes. After the parade, students will be treated to a juice box and some fruit snacks.

Parents of costumed students are invited to come and watch the parade, and should be ready to hold the hand of their student, in case the student gets lost or one costume is too scary.

Anyone wanting to participate in the parade can visit BYU’s Elementary Education Department to sign up, but will be required to sing the ABCs and identify circles, squares, and rectangles.

BYU plans to announce other holiday traditions later in the year, like a Valentine’s Day party where you have to bring a Valentine for everyone in your class.
