Hallmark Announces New BYU-Based Christmas Movie

Hallmark announced today that their new line of Christmas movies will include an exciting new flick filmed exclusively at BYU. Hallmark is known for having their finger on the pulse of romance, so it was only a matter of time until they made their way to beautiful Provo, Utah, a city bursting with love and drama.

The film, Gavels and Garlands is about fierce law student Megan Johnston, who decides to stay in Provo to complete the LSAT instead of flying to Kansas to meet her fiancĂ©’s family for Christmas. While studying late at night in the library, Megan literally runs into an old friend from her mission in Mexico City, who might help her pick up more than just her ridiculously bulky law textbooks.

Featuring a no name cast culled from Provo’s acting talent, Gavels and Garlands taps into the heart of Provo dating life while still managing to fulfill all Christmas movie stereotypes, minus the part where protagonists cheat on their significant others, because one of the actors was a BYU student and didn’t feel such a scene was up to par with the Honor Code.

  1. Hole up. If she’s studying for the LSAT, why’d she got law textbooks? Is she studying for classes before she gets accepted? @Hallmark we need answers!
