Book of Mormon Hero Teancum added to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC fighter, according to leak.

In a recent leak on a popular gaming site, several characters were revealed to be coming to the popular M-rated fighting game Mortal Kombat 11. Along with your standard returning characters, comic book characters, and 80s movie characters the series is known for, one particular name stood out- Teancum.

Many on the internet were confused about this character- with some even suggesting that it was a new character. Many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints thought it was just a coincidence, but further evidence has revealed that it is in fact the Book of Mormon hero.

“Teancum in Mortal Kombat 11 will not be an exact replica from the book, but there will be plenty of great references” said one of the games developers. “Just wait until you see his spear through the heart fatality- its brutal” he said with a laugh.

The reveal of a Book of Mormon hero being in Mortal Kombat has received plenty of criticism. Some of which has even come from members of the church. One of the particularly notable criticisms is the fact that the game is adding new biographical information to Teancum that is not featured in the Book of Mormon. According to the game, Teancum was actually trained in combat by Ammon; and will even be able to remove the arms from his opponents.

Regardless of the criticisms, you can expect to play Teancum sometime in 2021. The developers of the game wonder if more members of the Church will play the game if Teancum ends up being top-tier in competitive play.
