Provo Man Deletes Grammarly from Phone After Hearing Advice to Delete Period Apps

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, many creators on Instagram and Tiktok have been sharing advice on how to protect yourself and your reproductive health. One of the suggestions was to delete any period trackers off of your phone in the face of fears that your data could be sold or turned over to the government.

After hearing this advice on TikTok, Provo man Jason Kimball has deleted the Grammerly app off of his phone. “I wasn’t quite sure if they were talking about Grammerly or not because they only specified periods, but I’m guessing all punctuation counts. I just really want to make sure I’m safe from all that bad things happening in the world right now. I even disabled automatic spell check to be sure.”

Kimball was also concerned that his sister, Brinleigh, had an app focusing on period novels on her phone and made sure to warn her of the danger. “He told me that I should delete my Jane Austen fanfiction app because the government could use it to hunt me down,” Brinleigh shared. “I have no clue where he’s getting these ideas, but he seems to mean the best I guess.”

At press time, Jason Kimball was correcting the spelling of the word “menstrual” to “mercantile”, amused that some people know how to spell so few of the places in a standard DnD campaign.
