Elder Cook Just Celebrated His 85th Birthday Alone

The Alternate Universe has learned that Elder Quentin L. Cook celebrated his September 8th birthday all alone, because everyone was too excited about President Nelson’s 101st birthday on the 9th.

In an interview with Elder Cook, he stated, “I sent out lots of invitations, and even bought a cake, but nobody came.  At first, I thought they were hiding to surprise me, which seems like a weird thing to do to an 85 year-old, but eventually I had to admit, no one was coming.  I couldn’t even eat the cake, for health reasons, so I just sat alone eating cucumbers and listening to Lesley Gore.”

We met Sister Cook in the next room, and she said, “Oh shoot, was that last week?  I totally forgot with all the excitement.  I mean, it’s not like he was turning a hundred-and-one or anything!”  We heard, “Eighty-five is a pretty big number too, Mary!”  She whispered to us, “He’ll get over it.”

Elder Cook further elaborated, “My great grandkids always each make me a card for my birthday, but I didn’t get a single one this year.  I saw little Annie-May drawing one. I peeked.  It was for President Nelson.”

If you want more people to come next time, Elder Cook, we recommend you give out free pizza in the Wilkinson Center.
