An Open Love Letter to the Daily Universe

Dear The Daily Universe,

We haven’t always seen eye to eye. You’ve judged us for reporting the raw truth and we’ve judged you for fabricating your own. But we’re tired of fighting. We’re tired of running from our feelings. We’re not kids anymore, The Daily Universe. We’re student newspaper organizations now. And that means we have to take some responsibility.

We’ve been around for nine years, The Daily Universe. We’re known across campus and beyond it. Thousands read our articles every single day. And how many headlines have you written about us? Zero. What more can we do to earn your love? Our 14,000 followers mean nothing if you’re not one of them, The Daily Universe. Our articles are worthless if you’re not reading them. Our boundless love is wasted on all but you.

We comment and you don’t reply. We post and you don’t comment. We live and we love while you live without. Come home to us, The Daily Universe. No more games. No more facades.

Love,

The Alternate Universe
