BYU Student Raising Money for Australian Bush Fire by Sending Scripture Highlights

Many have been concerned about the wildfires that have run rampant across Australia. Celebrities and influencers alike have been raising money to help relieve these fires that have devastated the beautiful country.

One BYU student wanted to know what she could do to help and feels she has found the solution: Megan Fairchild felt inspired by others’ efforts to help raise awareness and, for every $10 donated to a reputable charity, is sending scripture highlights to verified donors. She tweeted that those interested in receiving a highlight just have to send proof of their donation to her.

“After hearing how much money someone was raising by sending nude photos, I knew that I could do something of my own that wouldn’t be against the honor code. I know there is no earthly price for scripture knowledge, but I felt I could share my wisdom to help save Australia.”

The highlights that she offers range from decade old scripture mastery verses to popular verses that are found adorned on the walls of many local homes. Some highlights have even come with her phone number written in the margins for those interested in more than just the scripture verses.

Here is a list of charities that you can click to donate today:

Australian Red Cross

NSW Rural Fire Service

The World Wildlife Fund

The Salvation Army

Foodbank
