BYU to turn HFAC into Dante’s Inferno for Honor Code violators

As the new Music Building approaches competition, BYU has finally answered the question on all of our minds: what’s going to happen to the HFAC? On Thursday morning BYU’s Facilities Management announced their intention to turn the Harris Fine Arts Center into a prison for Honor Code violators inspired by Dante’s Inferno.

In an exclusive interview with The Alternate Universe, BYU Facilities Manager Parker Burton described the events that led up to this decision.

“I came up with the idea after one of our building inspectors got lost in the HFAC for a week. Bob still hasn’t stopped talking about ghosts.”

The HFAC will be set up into different circles or levels where students will be placed according to their honor code violations. For example, the first circle, Limbo, is for students who do not attend church. In this circle students are forced to wander the upper floor of the HFAC, searching vainly for an exit while listening to the Tabernacle Choir and conference talks.

Kyleighdrea Smith, a project co-manager expressed her excitement for this project.

“I just really think this is what the school needs. What better way to discourage students from watching rated R movies than forcing them to fight each other in the basement of the HFAC.”

The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of next school year.

We have included a complete list of the Circles of the HFAC below.

Circles of the HFAC

1st Circle (Limbo) – includes those who miss church.

2nd Circle (Lust) – includes those who violate the dress code or law of chastity.

3rd Circle (Gluttony) – includes those who drink tea or coffee.

4th Circle (Greed) – includes those who don’t pay tithing.

5th Circle (Anger) – includes those who argue in BYU’s Facebook and Instagram comment sections.

6th Circle (Heresy) – includes those who use profane or vulgar language.

7th Circle (Violence) – includes those who watch rated R movies.
