President Oaks expects that his perfect bracket (inspired by revelation) will continue with tonight’s Michigan x Arizona game.
Since his call as the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, President Dallin H. Oaks has already implemented various policy changes. One of those changes occurred a few months ago, when the First Presidency of the church announced that the Saturday Evening Session of General Conference would be discontinued.
Church members had an overall positive reaction to the announcement, but many still questioned why the change was taking place. When asked about his motive behind the meeting change, President Oaks explained, “March Madness was a major factor in the discontinuation of the Saturday Evening session. I will not stand for the suffering of loyal basketball fans any longer!”
Loyal General Conference watchers haven’t been able to watch the Final Four March Madness games live for decades. And those who did watch faced threats of Outer Darkness in the hereafter.
Now, members can watch the game live guilt-free, including the General Authorities. The church leadership is hosting a March Madness watch party tonight in the empty Conference Center.
Personal interviews with the Apostles revealed how excited they are for the schedule change.
“There’s no better way to watch the game than on the big screen!” expressed Elder David A. Bednar.
“Finally, after 65 years, I can watch the game without spoilers!” said Elder Rasband, with tears in his eyes.
“There used to be a Saturday Evening session? I’ve been doing this for years,” said Elder Gilbert, the newest apostle.
“Yay! Sports!” cheered an excited Elder Gong.
Tonight will definitely be a night to remember for the General Authorities, and a needed night off in preparation for four hours of General Conference tomorrow.
