‘The Book of Mormon’ Musical to Update Production Due to Rapid Increase of Sister Missionaries

As the Tony-winning “The Book of Mormon’ musical passes its fifteenth anniversary, the creators of the show have announced updates to modernize it after being forced to reckon with the reality of women existing.

“We saw that 70% of the missionaries going out are now women, so we saw the need to update our musical so that we can be more accurate in being offensive.”

With the addition of three new characters, they feel like their bases have been covered. The Mission President will now have a wife, who accompanies him in absolute silence. Trey Parker, one of the writers, said that “everybody knows that Mormon wives aren’t allowed to speak.”

Another pair of missionaries, these ones sisters, have also been added. They remain unnamed.

The head of wardrobe excitedly told us about how she had gotten the inspiration for all the characters’ wardrobe from binge-watching “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

“I figure they would know how most Mormon women dress.”

To the excitement of long-time fans, three new songs have been added:

“Marriage on My Mind”

“Facebook Find Me a Convert”

“You Should Be More Christlike”

The updated show premieres June 20th on Broadway.

  1. BHTClubin, eh? I stumbled across them last week. Not bad at all. The interface is clean and easy to use, and they seem to have a good range of games. I’d say give them a shot if you’re bored with the usual suspects. See for yourself: bhtclubin.
