Rainn Wilson Called As Assistant to the Regional Seventy

After his attendance at Music and the Spoken Word, his comments on recent podcasts, and his impressive performance with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, General Authorities of the Church extended a calling just in time for General Conference.

“Brother Wilson will be sustained during Saturday’s Conference session. We expect great things,” said President Oaks.

Rainn will be serving with the Pennsylvania Seventy, Scott Michael, who looks forward to having an assistant ready to help with various tasks. Elder Michael commented:

“I’ve never had an assistant before. Might make him go train the stake presidents.”

The general public also seems to be optimistic about having a celebrity helping out around the Church. One anonymous female commenter stated:

“It sounds like a pretty hard job, but I’m sure he’ll rise to the occasion.”
