Spring has sprung on BYU campus, and in preparation for the May flowers, BYU is implementing a new and unprecedented policy.
At 11 am on Thursday morning, BYU administration made the announcement that computer science students will be officially allowed to shower for all of the month of April
“We’re always looking for opportunities for our students to experience new things,” says BYU president C. Shane Reese. “We think that this will be a truly ground breaking month for our computer science department.”
The progressive change came as a shock to many, and the responses have been mixed. When asked about the changes, CS 340 professor Ned Johnson said the following:
“I’m just not sure about this. I’m worried the students are spending more class time googling wikiHow shampoo instructions than learning JavaScript.”
CS student Pie Thon added the following comment:
“A whole month? Yippee! I hope my apartment has a shower.”
While water conservationists have yet to speak up on the matter, it’s safe to say that BYU will be a nicer smelling place for the month of April.
